Chord #26 - FMaj7(9)
Today's chord is one that anyone can play easily. It only uses two fretted notes which are the F and A on the 5th and 2nd string. I play these two notes with the 1st and 4th fingers of my left hand but you can also use the 1st and 3rd fingers. These two notes create an interval of a Major 10th and immediately implies a F Major triad. Combined with the other two open strings - it creates a colorful FMaj7(9) chord.
For the musical example, I played a two bar progression using the same fingering concept going down the scale in F Major. I can imagine this being a cool accompaniment for vocals or even for a guitar solo.
Enjoy!
