Chord #7 - Bb7 (b9/#11/13)

chordaday7

This chord has three tensions all played on open strings. This voicing can also be looked as a polychord (meaning a chord on top of another). An E minor triad is the upper structure (the top half) and a Bb7 is the lower structure. The separation is particularly clear here because the fretted notes represent the lower structure and the open strings are the upper structure.

The line in this example are based around chord shapes on three string set. As a fingerstyle player, I often play these lines with my thumb, index and middle right hand fingers for each 3 string set.

Enjoy!
