This is an example of a close voicing. Typically, it would be rather difficult to get a five-part close voicing on the guitar. Here, I used open strings in conjuction with some fretted notes to achieve this sound. For the musical example, I played a folk fingerpicking style right hand pattern to this EMaj7 - D6/Maj7(9) chord progression. The second chord uses the same left hand fingering but moved two frets lower.
